Todd Williamson at Loisir Gallery, Los Angeles
April 25 – May 25, 2025 Los Angeles is about to host an exhibition that reaches far beyond its walls. Celebrated for his official 2019 Venice Biennale installation Processional, and recipient of the prestigious Pollock Prize for Creativity, Todd Williamson returns with The Space Between Now and Forever—his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles in years, and a bold step forward in a career marked by both emotional depth and conceptual clarity. A Journey Through Influence, Legacy, and the Unknown In this new body of work, Williamson turns his focus toward the forces that shape our world—power, leadership, memory—and asks what happens to these ideas once they’re no longer spoken, tweeted, or broadcast. What do we carry forward? What fades? Executed in Williamson’s signature language of layered abstraction, the works feel both monumental and intimate. Faint impressions of human presence rise and fall within his fields of pigment, echoing modern voices without naming them. Through sweeping gestures, subtle tension, and luminous restraint, Williamson explores how influence persists—etched into memory, into culture, and in this case, into space itself. Yes, space. From Venice to the MoonA fragment of this artistic vision will be preserved aboard the Arch Mission Foundation’s Lunar Library, launching in 2025. This ambitious project will send a curated archive of human culture to the Moon—where Williamson’s work will rest among other testaments of humanity, preserved for future generations and perhaps other worlds. It’s a profound gesture: to make art not only for this moment, but for eternity. Why This Matters NowFor collectors and art lovers alike, The Space Between Now and Forever offers something rare—a deeply reflective exhibition that transcends trends while remaining rooted in the urgency of now. In a time of flux and digital noise, Williamson's work slows us down. It asks us to look inward and outward at once. To question not only who holds power, but how we respond to it. And to imagine how today’s ideas might live on—through art, through memory, and through silence. Whether you're a longtime follower of Williamson’s work or discovering him for the first time, this show offers a chance to connect with something bigger—something enduring. 📍VIP Artist Reception Wednesday, April 24, 2025 · 6 PM Loisir Gallery, West Hollywood 🎟️ Public Opening Thursday, April 25 · 6 PM Exhibition runs through May 25 Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience a body of work that moves from Venice to the Moon—and invites you to consider your own imprint along the way. |
