Art Basel was very promising that the art market is getting stronger.  The crowds were large at every event and there were parties all over Miami!  Art Basel showed strong artist and some great galleries but I felt the art that was shown was very "safe".  Art Miami was more interesting.  The art was more edgy with a little more of an edge to it.

_Art Basel Miami promises to be one of the best art fairs since the downfall of the economy. Tuesday night is the opening of Design Miami. The Invitation Only pre-opening to Art Basel will be Wednesday. The Bass Museum will open Wednesday night early with the Illy Coffee/ Timbaland Production at the Betsy Hotel at 11:00pm. This promises to be one of the highlights of the week with the appearances of several celebrities including Usher and P-Diddy.
